On 30 September 2026, something changes in how this country moves: Dubai gets its Etihad Rail passenger station, and the Dubai–Abu Dhabi run drops to about 57 minutes by train — no Salik, no parking, no E11 traffic. What Opens on 30 September
The launch adds Dubai and Al Dhaid (Sharjah) to the passenger network that has been running between Abu Dhabi and Fujairah since the end of June. Dubai’s station sits at Jumeirah Golf Estates, on the Al Yalayis side — south–west Dubai, roughly between Dubai Marina and Expo City, with the metro’s Red Line extension district and the E311/E611 corridors nearby.
That location matters. If you live in Dubai Marina, JVC, Dubai South or anywhere along Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road, the station is genuinely convenient. Coming from Deira or Downtown, factor the drive to the station into your door–to–door comparison.

- Dubai ↔ Abu Dhabi: about 57 minutes. Driving the same route is typically 60–90 minutes to central Abu Dhabi depending on traffic — before parking
- Abu Dhabi ↔ Fujairah (already running): 1 hour 45 minutes coast to coast
- Published fares on the running route start at AED 55 in Comfort and AED 120 in Premium. Dubai–route fares were not yet announced at the time of writing — check the Etihad Rail app for live pricing before you plan around a number

Dubai is the headline, but the plan is national: Al Dhafra joins from 30 December 2026, the line completes at Sharjah around 30 March 2027, and the network is designed to link 11 cities across the Emirates.
